Clay Patrick Farr was born in Bakersfield California on February 19, 1985. He attended Centennial High School and graduated in 2003. During high school, Clay participated in the Kern County Sheriffs Explorer Program and became a senior explorer.

Immediately after graduating, Clay enlisted in the US Army as a calvary scout and began his basic training January 2004 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Once finished with basic training and Calvary scouts school he was stationed at Fort Holt Louisiana. At that time his location was not taking volunteers to go to Iraq. Clay then requested to be transferred somewhere that was taking volunteers. After being transferred to the 10th Mountain division at Fort Drive New York he volunteered for combat duty in Iraq. At the time the 10th Mountain division had been forming new units thus Clay was not sent to Iraq until August 2005, where he went to spend his final days serving.

Clay Patrick Farr was killed in Bella Iraq on February 26, 2006 due to a roadside bomb. He is buried at the Arlington National Cemetery. Clay received the Purple Heart and the bronze star.
